Ecuador trip, Patrick S - July 11, 2007

Sandra, We had a lovely time. Everything worked well, the boat, the crew and our guide Gustavo were really nice, and the 16 passengers got on really well which is an important thing when you´re living so close together. And the weather was kind to us, and we saw interesting places and wildlife. Patrick S.

Ecuador trip, patrick sinnott (from UK) - July 11, 2007
Sandra, We had a marvellous time. Am still left wondering that the Andes and the Galapagos Islands are so different and special. The boat was good and had a very good guide on board. We were kept on the move though! Thank you for organising things so smoothly. Ted B.
Ecuador trip, Patricia Wainwright (from UK) - May 29, 2007

Sandra, The trip went very well thank you. Everything went to plan, just like clockwork! Diamante is a lovely ship with helpful friendly crew. We also had an excellent naturalist guide.

Hotels in Ecuador were also excellent, with friendly efficient service.Local guides in Ecuador very good, particularly Edison Landeta. The Cuenca excursion was very good but would have been better with an extra day - we were struggling to fit in everything we wanted to see and could easily have filled another day. The only bad part of the trip was the bit I organised myself :-) - the Iberia flight. If anyone asks you for advice, I wouldn't recommend Iberia! Thanks for organising everything so efficiently. Best wishes, Patricia W.

Ecuador trip, Barry Silver (from USA) - May 25, 2007

Sandra, Here is a brief review of our trip: Quasar reps met us at the Quito airport and accompanied us on the flight to Baltra. The charter on Icaro was fine except that it was rescheduled to be one hour later. We were called at our hotel to tell us just before we got on the shuttle to the airport.

Quasar reps retrieved our baggage from the carousel in Baltra and transported it directly to our cabin. This was much appreciated. Our cabin on Evolution was on the small side (as we expected) but the bathroom was bigger than any we ever had on a 5 star cruise ship! The shower was excellent.

All of the crew were competent and friendly. The two naturalist guides were outstanding. The food greatly exceeded our expectations for quality, presentation and variety. The several common areas on Evolution are large and comfortable. Even though all rooms were occupied there was plenty of room for everyone. The hot-tub is a welcome spot after snorkelling.

The excursions will well organized and varied with two choices offered on some days. Many of the people on the trip got very dressed up for dinner and no one wore shorts after the first night. We based our packing on various guidebooks which indicated shorts for all meals.

Some of the other passengers were similarly unprepared. Overall, it was a wonderful trip and we appreciate getting the opportunity to partake of the special rate offered to us by Latin Discover. Regards, Barry S.

Ecuador trip, Betty Neyer - May 20, 2007

Laura, I did have a wonderful time. It was a once in a lifetime experience. And Bob and I could not have afforded the Evolution without the generous opportunity provided by you and your company. The food was excellent and the daily schedule was perfect. There was plenty of air conditioning and hot water for showers after our inland hikes. The crew of the Evolution was first class. They had a way of making all of the passengers feel as if we were the best group they had ever served.

The passengers on the ship were very interesting as well. We had a senator, a top exec from the World Health Organization, lots of seasoned travelers and many other good travel companions. We spent some time one day in Guayaquil with one of the crew and his family. It made our stay even more special. We loved the snorkeling. Bob got to play with a seal underwater ... he and the seal would dive down and up together. We did some some black tip sharks and I didn't freak out! The photography was UNBELIEVABLE. With birds, marine iguanas and seals standing still as you walk by it is easy to take incredible pictures.

I also wanted to tell you how classy the web site you built for our itinerary was. I have traveled alot and have never seen a service provider more elegant and classy! Thank you again for all of your hard work. We'll be contact you again when we travel to Costa Rica or cruise the Amazon. VERY appreciatively, Betty and Bob N.

Ecuador trip, Andrew P (from USA) - February 13, 2007
Andrew is still in Ecuador climbing in the Andes, and will not be home till Monday. I would like to thank you for all you did to make everything so wonderful and stress free. Sacha Lodge was fantastic, we were looked after from we woke till we went to bed. On our return we were met at the airport and had a great city tour with a very helpful and informative guide. The horse riding was also well arranged and worked very well for us. Thanks for arranging everything and hope to come back again Maureen P.

Laura, I just wanted to thank you and Latin Discover for helping me plan a wonderful trip. I was very impressed with your prompt and helpful emails and repsonse to my questions. I was pleased with the organization of having my personal trip website, itinerary information and with having my plane ticket and voucher delivered the day before my departure as planned. The Encantada was great and I had an amazing experience in the Galapagos. I wouldn´t hesitate using Latin Discover again for future trips througout Latin America. Thanks again and best wishes, Nathan Winder ps. You´re welcome to use any of my comments as positive feedback on your website or elsewhere.

Laura, the trip was fantastic. Everything worked perfectly. The boat was good, the crew and the guides were very competent. I want to thank you also for your kind and professional help.

Prior to the Galapagos trip we spent a week at the Hotel Embassy and Cuello de Luna close to Cotopaxi. Both of them worked very well for us, and we a very good mountain guide from Cuello de Luna. Thanks again, Stefan Fölster

Ecuador trip, Marc Blackstein (from USA) - December 29, 2006
- our agent, laura, was *very* responsive and helped us with all of our questions - the "personal trip website" they created for us came in very handy - the hotels and cruise that they set us up with were fabulous. the hotel prices were a bargain, as we later found when we tried to book an additional night ourselves. We would absolutely use LatinDiscover to book another trip
Ecuador trip, Marc B (from USA) - December 26, 2006

Hello Laura estamos en hotel Reina Isabel de Quito. Desfortunadamente, mi novia tiene el gripe (my spanish has improved this month) but the timing of her sickness couldn't be better since she waited it out until we left the cruise our month was excellent we even got engaged on a horseback riding trip in Podocarpus park near Loja ! The guide was nice enough to even take pictures for us the hotels were great we loved the Mercure in Quito - it has very comfortable beds unlike some of the other places we stayed.. And good food too Grand Hotel Guayaquil was very nice as well at first we thought we weren´t going to like Guayaquil, but then we were very pleasantly surpised when we went to the Malecon. So, I would definitely recommend a 1 day stay there.

Also hotel Silberstein was nice and very helpful. Puerto Ayora had the best food of all the towns we visited. The cruise was SUPER! The staff on the boat was very helpful and the food was very good. The Galapagos are an amazing place. So, that’s all. Thank you again for all of your help and if we travel again to South America soon (honeymoon maybe in Chile or Peru?) I will definitely contact you best wishes and Happy New Year, Marc

Ecuador trip, Daniel K (from Switzerland) - December 14, 2006

Hello Laura, The trip was perfect, everything worked very well. The service in the office in Quito was very friendly and everybody there was helpful. The trip itself was wonderful and we are very happy about it. With friendly regards, Danny and Brigitte

PS: We were the oldest passengers on board and all the others could have been our children! But we did everything the others did and were not the slowest.

Ecuador trip, Euan M (from UK) - December 7, 2006
